The Fredericksburg Center for Creative Arts (FCCA) presents the art exhibit “Elemental Grace”. The exhibit will showcase the work of Lorie McCown. The exhibit will be located in the FCCA Members Gallery and opens on January 4th 2011, runs through January 31st with a First Friday Opening Reception on January 7th from 6-8:30 pm. The exhibition is free and open to the public. New work by Lorie McCown in fiber and paint, based on the elements and the forms they reveal in our everyday landscape. Vibrant colors, dimensional textiles and vivid paintings reflect our world the basic elements that are all around us. All work is for sale.
Lorie McCown holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art, from California State University, Long Beach, and attended San
Diego State University’s Graduate Art program. She was formally trained in drawing, painting, and art history.
She has made art all her life, mainly in the fields of drawing, painting, paper, yarn and fiber
The Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts (FCCA) is an all-volunteer non-profit organization supporting the creative arts in Fredericksburg, Virginia. FCCA is located in the Historic Silversmith House,
members, and funded through member and community support.
